There are other shops selling a wide variety of products along Eastern Ave. and up and down Conkling St.; they seem to increase in number every month.
“It’s becoming more shop-able,” said Brett Sippel, co-owner/operator of RoofTop HoT. “There are a lot of options now, and it’s all creative gifts.”
His own shop is a great place to pick up “locally-sourced treats, gifts and stocking stuffers, as well as a lot of housewarming stuff,” including Tanner’s Pickles, Kinderhook baked goods, local cheeses and more.
RoofTop HoT also features produce grown by Sippel and Sabrina Mincey, his partner.
“If it doesn’t have a bar code on it, you’re going to find it here,” Sippel said.
The Highlandtown Gallery likewise has gifts that cannot be found elsewhere, from the avant garde to the whimsical.
Debbie Lynn Zwiebach, a Highlandtown Gallery mainstay, has updated her collection to include local items. Scenes from Fell’s Point, where she lived in the 1970s, are available as “postcard-puzzles,” as are Highlandtown vistas. She will also paint a Christmas ornament with a portrait of a pet – just bring a photo.
At the Gough Street entrance to the gallery is Beth-Ann Wilson’s Night Owl Gallery & Gifts, a functioning workshop and studio with works both curated and created by the artist.
Further up the block at 3402 Gough Street find Y:ART Gallery featuring a holiday exhibition of small works and miniatures this season.
The possibilities are endless; bring a friend and take a walk.
